As a frequent traveller, one of the questions I get asked most, especially as we head into summer travel season, is some version of: “Why does my digestion go completely sideways when I travel?” Firstly, I want to stress that if you’ve ever experienced some sort of GI effect while travelling- YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Gut health and bathroom habits are always slightly taboo topics, but they shouldn’t be! It’s estimated between 40-70% of travelers experience either bloating, constipation, diarrhea or gas while travelling, so it’s super common, but it can definitely put a damper on an otherwise amazing trip.
